Etsuko Ishitobi won the Grand Prize at the 2012 Tokyo International Great Quilt Festival. She loves antique fabrics, indigos in particular, reusing them to create works of art that are impressive both in design and creativity. Along with the dozen extraordinary quilts that Etsuko presents in her book are some simpler projects: bags, a table runner, placemats, wall-hangings and other small items for the home. Her work is truly magnificent! One of the things I like about quilting is the use of everyday textiles — fabrics that are used, tossed out, or sometimes recycled.
